Trapped in Bath Tub (TIBT) Award
A TIBT book is a book that is so suspenseful, nail-biting-causing, and/or cliff-hangery that if you start reading it while you're taking a bubble bath, you will get trapped in the bathtub long after the water is cold and the bubbles have dissolved--but you CAN'T get out of the bathtub and stop reading because the book is that good. In some instances, you have to re-fill the bath water with warm water until the water heater runs out of water, and then you'll just freeze.
Alternatively, this is the book that you can't stop reading even if the time is 2 a.m. and you have to get up for work early in the morning the next day (but you have an irrational feeling that if you stop reading, another main character will be shot OR you know someone is going to die in your book because you've read spoilers and you can't stop reading it anyway because you want to see how this character dies because you enjoy torturing yourself. Feel free to click on those links to see which books literally kept me up all night).
TIBT books reviewed on this blog:
- A Line in the Dark
- Symptoms of Being Human
- City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls, City of Heavenly Fire
